I’m in the process of writing my pre-launch, launch, post-launch email campaign. I had to take a look at my lead magnet page to make sure I didn’t say something there that I shouldn’t have said, etc. I want everything to be consistent. Here’s the link to the lead magnet itself.

    Number One Secret Thank You

At this point they’ve already opted in to receive my #1 secret. This video delivers that secret. Per Sean’s instructions, the video is right there on the thank you page. They don’t have to go check some email to find out where to get what they opted in for. But now I have some questions.

    1. In the video I tell them to check their “welcome email” for some unadvertised bonuses. Should I also put the download links to those bonuses on this thank you page? My inclination is to do that.

    2. I close the video by doing some light selling of the membership itself. I tell them they can check that out by clicking on the Join Now button below the video. I’m now wondering if I should leave this selling component in there. I can record a new ending and edit it in easily enough. However, it would be easier and take much less time to leave it as it is and simply add the Join Now button. In the interest of getting this thing launched, my inclination is to leave the selling component right where it is and add the button.

    Your thoughts?

Including the bonuses on the thank you page is fairly standard practice – personally I’d put them on it as well as including the link to them (and the thank you page) in the welcome email.

And personally don’t see anything wrong with putting the Join Now button on the thank you page – probably with some explanation for those who want to explore before the video gets to that point.

I’d also make sure there’s a bit more content on the site for those who click the links in the footer area of the page (and I would set all links to open in a new window)

    Trevor –

Thanks for confirming my thinking about the bonuses and the Join Now button. I can certainly add some text to explain what the button is about.

I’d also make sure there’s a bit more content on the site for those who click the links in the footer area of the page (and I would set all links to open in a new window)

That’s a very good idea. Which specific links are you referring to? On the bottom of the thank you page? Hmmm. I’m pretty sure I’m using the same footer on all my pages but I’d better check that. I thought I had all links set to open in new windows but maybe not. I’ll add a task to check that for all links throughout the site.

Several links at the foot of the page – home, blog, member login. Normally they’re fine as plain links but (personal preference again) I think links on a product or download page should leave that page as new pages so that people aren’t constantly pressing a back button and starting the auto-play video from scratch again.

Not a show-stopper and other people may think differently.
